The main objective of FFEM aims to create a space where women can thrive, learn, and support each other in their professional journeys.
Joining FFEM isn't just about professional development; it's about empowerment. It's about women supporting women in an industry where gender disparities persist.
By becoming a part of FFEM, women gain access to a community that understands their unique journey, celebrates their successes, and provides a safety net during challenging times.
In an era where diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of organisational priorities, but yet where we just don’t seem to be able to shift the dial in our hard numbers (stuck solidly at 17% female advisers), it’s vital we keep talking about this and ensuring that women have the tools and support needed to break through barriers and achieve success.
Of the 100+ of you that have already signed up and joined FFEM, an astounding 80 of you said that, if we approached you, you’d help with creating content and be happy to share your knowledge to support and encourage others – how amazing!
We will certainly be calling on volunteers to assist in developing our video content as well as creating more content for this Blog.
As a reminder, FFEM has two main objectives – education and mentoring.
Our monthly video content, coupled with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits, creates the educational dimension to FFEM. These are hosted on the second Tuesday of every month at 12.30 on zoom.
The quarterly Honesty Hour meetings (hosted by me) further enhance the FFEM experience by creating an intimate space for members to share experiences, seek advice, and build lasting connections. This is our contribution to mentoring – on an informal basis. These smaller gatherings foster a sense of community, allowing women to navigate the challenges of the financial services industry together. I’d love to see more of you at these as we always have some great conversations, and if there nothing serious to discuss we can share stories and have a cuppa, getting to know one another better and how we can support one another.
Your help is needed!
We’re keen to increase FFEM numbers by 150 women, so do you know anyone in the profession who could benefit by joining us? If so, let them know about us, by sharing the website with them, or get them to get in touch with me direct if they’d like to chat.
